2019 UCF Advancement Fellows Program

The UCF Advancement team plans to hire three UCF students who will be known as UCF Advancement Fellows. The UCF Advancement Fellows program emphasizes fellowship, sharing of resources and ideas, and leadership development. It is an entry-level position within Advancement through which young professionals gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector. Each Fellow will gain experience in a professional environment by working as the front desk assistant and receiving career development programming within Advancement.

Coordinator, Alumni Engagement

UCF Title: Coordinator, Administrative Services

Position Number: 39775

Open: 11-16-2018 until filled

Coordinates the overall organizational needs of the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement and supports the Alumni Engagement Team through administrative tasks. Maintains a complex calendar for the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement and the Director of College Alumni Engagement which includes planning meetings, donor visits, internal and external meetings and events.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

Preferences: Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex organization. Flexibility to adjust to pressing needs as they develop. Flexibility in work hours to accommodate some evening and weekend events and occasional general overtime.


Associate Director, Regional Alumni Engagement

UCF Title: Associate Director, Advancement & Alumni Affairs

Position Number: 39786

The Associate Director of Regional Alumni Engagement manages and directs UCF Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving initiatives that increase alumni engagement through a regional-based alumni program.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience.

Preferences: Ideal candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and should be a superb editor with demonstrated service orientation and diplomacy; the ability to multi-task; be highly organized and detail-oriented, have effective organizational and time management skills; be an independent worker with adept problem-solving and project management skills, a strategic and critical thinker; and have an enthusiastic and energetic attitude. Able to foster relationships and build rapport. Candidate should be familiar with Microsoft Office and have a high level of comfort with technology. Candidate should have demonstrated experience working with databases, websites and social media. Prior event experience preferred; prior alumni relations experience is a plus. Ability to work nights, weekends and frequent travel as required.


Associate Director, Alumni Professional Engagement

UCF Title: Associate Director, Advancement & Alumni Affairs

The Associate Director for Alumni Professional Engagement provides leadership and management for Advancement’s alumni professional engagement efforts, offering a comprehensive and innovative suite of services and programs that support individual and group counseling, in-person and virtual professional development, networking and mentoring opportunities and lifelong learning events.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience.

Preferences: Ability to effectively communicate, handle multiple priorities, and handle the pressure of deadlines. Should be able to work frequent evenings weekends. Ability to meet deadlines as established. The ability to build and maintain relationships with alumni worldwide to expand UCF’s professional network and help alumni develop and leverage networks over a lifetime. The ability to recruit and convene prominent alumni and internal and external stakeholders to speak at events to advance UCF’s mission of being America’s Partnership University.
